POLITICAL ORIGIN OF ATAHUALLPA

Visit (343 times)

There are some doubts about the birthplace of Atahualpa. The conquistador Pedro Cieza de Leon said in one of his chronicles have found out through the streets of Cuzco the origin of Atahualpa, he said the apricots (nobles) Cuzco told Atahualpa and Huascar was also higher than Cuzco as he also ruled that his mother was quiteña.7 Most chronic conditions such as Santa Cruz Pachacuti and Bernabé Cobo say that Atahualpa was born in Cuzco, while very few who claim an origin Quito, among others in the late sixteenth Diego Lobato de Sosa (born in 1536 of an alleged sister of Atahualpa), and in the seventeenth century Pedro de Mercado. The Cuzco Inca Garcilaso de la Vega is the leading chronicler who has this.
There are sources, mostly written in the late s. Mid-sixteenth century, that support your Tahuatinsuyu birth. The fact that Tupac was born in Vilcashuamán and his son Huayna Capac in Tomebamba, suggests that he may well have Atahualpa born in Quito, as part of an expansionist policy of the Empire and as a way to reinforce a political conquest of nature religious (Hugo Burgos Guevara, Guam, the Puma and the Amaru). Unfortunately, lacking the Incas of writing, we will never know the real origin of Atahualpa, although it seems most likely was born in Quito.
Other chroniclers relate that Tomebamba lived in more than 10 years with his father Huayna Capac, his brother Ninan Cuyuchi, and the Inca army (with its most influential general).
The possibility that Atahualpa was Quito and also his mother was the princess Paccha Duchicela is supported by the following evidence: Atahualpa was helped by Quito and people that shaped the nation Quito when he started the war of succession, which means that you Quito were faithful because he was the legitimate descendant of the sovereign Quito. The descendant of Atahualpa, Atahualpa Luis Felipe Duchicela Huaraca Duchicela XXVIII is the name that makes clear that Atahualpa is the son of Princess Paccha that belonged to the dynasty that ruled the nation Duchicela Quito. the fact that Tupac was born in Vilcashuaman and Huayna Capac was born in Tomebamba more huviera may Atahualpa born in Quito. Huayna Capac took up residence in Quito for 30 years, that stay coincides with the birth of Atahualpa making it very possible that Atahualpa was born in Quito. Atahualpa himself declares in the prison of Cajamarca, when questioned by the place of origin, said quote: "I was born in the land of Carangas (Quito), and, by his parents:" Son of my father Mr. Huayna - Capac and my mother Princess Paccha Duchicela "(Montesinos).
Where I do agree most of the chronicles of the day is that Atahuallpa was with his father in Cuzco during his childhood and youth, receiving education in this city in its noble status was due.
The Ecuadorian historians have divided opinions on the birthplace of Atahualpa, some say it was in Quito and others in the Cuzco.12
Peruvian historians are of the opinion Cuzco origin.
