In prison, Atahualpa offered to fill in exchange for his release two rooms of silver and gold "as far as your hand," the Spanish and immediately accepted the order was sent to all the Inca empire that send the largest possible number of gold and silver to Cajamarca.32 After fulfilling their part, Spanish sentenced to death for idolatry, fratricide, polygamy, incest and accused him of hiding a treasure.
He was awarded the last two options: to be baptized as a Christian and then hanged or burned alive. By choosing the first option was given the Christian name of Francisco. Francisco Pizarro is believed that mourned his muerte.33 (Pedro Pizarro recounts in his chronicle: "I saw the Marquis mourn").
He was executed on July 26, 1533. The news of his death caused a great anarchy, many ethnic groups dominated by the Incas rose and tried to regain his independencia.34
He was buried in the church of Cajamarca but a few days later his body mysteriously disappeared, probably rescued his subjects to mummified and buried along with their antepasados.35 36
After his death, many supporters of Huascar Inca (Manco Inca as) joined to defeat the Spanish Chalcuchimac, Quisquis and other supporters of Atahualpa.
