The Inca army was divided in the following manner:
A Chunca-Kamayoc (Group Leader), would command a 10 man squad.
A Piccka-Chunkamayoc (Section Leader), would command 5 groups.
A Pachac-Kamayoc (Company Leader)
A Huaranca-Kamayoc (Battalion Leader), would command 10 companies.
A Hatun-Apu (Great Unit Leader), would command 5,000 men.
The largest units in the Inca army were composed by 10,000 effectives, under the command of a general or Teachcauch. This was generally a nobleman from Cuzco, veteran from several campaigns.
