Defensive Weapons
Shields (Quechua: Hualcana): Used by higher ranking soldiers, were built from wood covered in leather. Could be round, squared or rectangular.
Helmets (Quechua: Uma chucu): Mostly wooden, some were reinforced with copper. Copper helmets were used by generals and high-ranking officers, wood helmets could be used by regulars if they found it comfortable.
Armour: Also used by officers and noblemen. Would simply consist in thick and padded cotton tunics, with wood plates for the chest and back.
